About the game
Onset is an open-world sandbox built around Lua scripting, with no set objectives to follow. Players choose among a large set of Lua-based commands - hundreds in total, cataloged in the developer wiki - to build their own scripts and game modes. That structure makes it a reasonable entry point for anyone just starting to learn programming. Blue Mountains both developed and published the game, which has been in early access since 2019.
