Hitman is a stealth-action series in which players embody Agent 47, a genetically engineered assassin who eliminates targets in creative ways. Developed by IO Interactive, the series is known for its large sandbox levels where each mission offers dozens of approaches. The recent World of Assassination trilogy (2016–2021) is widely regarded as the series' high point in terms of level design and player freedom.
